Our mission

The Benevolence Team assists and equips believers to share the gospel through acts of love and mercy.

Our vision

  • We think about mercy ministry at CPC broadly as short-term help and long-term, or holistic assistance.
  • While we help individuals and families on a short-term basis, our goal is to draw them into our long-term assistance program, in hopes of enfolding them into the CPC body.

How you can help

  • Short-Term:
    • 2nd and 4th Wednesday nights of the month
      • Meet with visitors from the community
      • Work with our team to assess how best CPC can meet immediate needs
    • Support the team whenever needs arise with a helping hand, skill set or knowledge in areas such as:
      • Legal matters;
      • Financial services, including family budgeting
      • Governmental and other social services in the community
      • Household plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work
      • Car repairs
      • Short term shelter and long-term housing;
      • Grocery shopping
      • Moving furniture
      • Childcare for team members on Wednesday nights.
  • Long-Term (Holistic):
    • “Walk” with individuals who have expressed a desire for (those whom the Benevolence Team has identified) for further help.
      • Meet for Bible study
      • Invite for a meal
      • Help with resumes
      • Make introductions to potential employers
      • Assist with family budgeting
      • Help pursue rehabilitation services
