Evangelism Committee

"The Evangelism Committee seeks to organize and equip the church to do mission work locally, within the United States, and in other continents.  We strive to organize the church's time, finances and other resources for this purpose."

This prrogram is designed to bridge the geographical gap and to encourage the missionaries we support both in the U.S.and around the world. When a person enrolls in the Adopt-a-Missionary program, they receive a packet containing information about a missionary/missionary family. The packet contains cards for birthdays, holidays and anniversaries.  It is our prayer that this program will provide the means to encourage and get to know the missionaries that are supported by Christ Pres. Peru Mission Trip 2013

June 14-22, 2013

Trujillo, Peru

Which organization are we going with?

Peru Mission is a mission organization that is working in the inlands of Peru doing community development and church planting in urban areas. CPC supports Allen & Sandi Smith, missionaries who work with Peru Mission. You can find out more about Peru Mission and check out videos at http://www.perumission.org/

How much does it cost?

The total cost (food, lodging and internal travel) is $800, + international airfare ($1000-1300). CPC will provide some funds to help offset this cost for those interested in going.

Who can go?

Any CPC member or regular attender aged 16 and up. Exceptions can be made for Junior High age youths.

What will we be doing?

We will be working on a construction project for Peru Mission. The construction project is NOT only for men. There is plenty to do on site if you are part of the construction team. There is also a possibility of helping conduct a Vacation Bible School (VBS).

How large will the team be?

We have 12 spots on the construction team. If a VBS is planned, others can participate in the VBS activities.

I am not sure about going, but am mildly interested. What should I do?

  1. Come to the Mission Trip Interest Meeting on Sunday, October 21 @ 4pm. We will provide additional information and answer questions.
  2. Get a passport, or if you already have one, check its validity. Your passport MUST be valid for at least 6 months at time of travel. Even if you are not sure about going, go ahead and get your passport early. It can take 1-2 months to process passport applications. http://travel.state.gov/passport/
  3. Learn more about Peru Mission. http://www.perumission.org/

NOTE: The coordinator for short-term missions with Peru Mission, Alleen Mclain de Tomás  will be visiting CPC on Sunday, December 2. Mark your calendars!
